The European Commission has published a list of the basic set of rights that EU citizens have in the digital environment.
The Code of EU Online Rights is a document outlining online consumer rights and principles that exist in European legislation, offering simple, transparent and understandable explanations of the legal rights and obligations of EU citizens.
These basic rights protect consumers when using online services, buying goods online, and in case of conflict with their providers of these services.
The newly published Code aims to inspire trust and confidence among consumers, and contribute to the promotion of greater use of online services.
