Aphaia at Web Summit 2018!

This week Aphaia attended Web Summit 2018. Web Summit is a technology conference, which has been held annually since 2009.

After several months of being immersed neck deep in GDPR compliance to support startups that are spicing up the European tech scene, we enjoyed the privilege and pleasure of attending the 2018 Web Summit Lisbon, Portugal.

Web Summit is an extraordinary event where 60,000 people gather together to discover or present the most exciting proposal on the tech scene. Attending it feels like being in the future. The floors are crammed with tech start-ups, investors, technology accelerators, tech enthusiasts, start-ups hubs and world-renowned speakers. From last year Web Summit, after GDPR become effective in May 2017, it is easy to see how data protection and data security is in everyone’s mind. Web Summit 2018 clearly demonstrates that amazing ideas and business models can be developed in accordance with right to privacy and data security.

This year at Web Summit 2018, we were happy to witness many start-ups merging innovative tech solutions with ethical ambitions: from sustainability to climate change, from diversity in the workplace to millennial- friendly retirement schemes.

Aphaia was a proud member of Women in Tech Summit, too, that brings women presence to 44,5%.

We look forward to collaborate with these startups of the future: after all, we are all trying to bridge the gap between ideas and reality and make something great out of it.
