Progress report on the Digital Agenda for Europe published

The European Commission has published the Annual Progress Report for the Digital Agenda for the year 2011.

Digital Agenda for Europe, a key initiative under the Europe 2020 strategy towards a sustainable and inclusive EU economy, aims to deliver economic and social benefits from a digital single market based on fast and ultra fast internet and interoperable applications.

The published report provides an overview of the progress of the actions of the Digital Agenda and outlines the work still to be done. Among the projects to be commenced in the next year are a revised roaming regulation, a directive on the enforcement of intellectual property rights that will address online piracy, and a revision of the Data Protection Directive.
